Welcome to the Mighty Cardinal Band!

About The MCB Program

The Short Version:

  • Fall Semester: All band students are enrolled in a section of the Marching Band: Winds, Percussion, Front Ensemble, Guard. When Marching Season comes to a close, students participate in the Symphonic Band.
  • Spring Semester: Students audition and are placed in either the Wind Ensemble or Concert Band. Members of the Guard participate in Winter Guard
  • Participation in the Jazz Ensemble is by audition/meeting with the Director and is offered both semesters.

Freshmen and other New Parents:

Please let us know what kind of info we're missing from this Web site that would have been, or would be, helpful to you. If you are feeling overwhelmed and uninformed you are not alone! Many freshman parents feel this way since our students are not the best communicators at this age. This is one of the major reasons we started the Web site. Ask, and we shall answer!

Another good way to stay informed is to attend our "official" BBPO Meetings. Families who paid dues and thus "joined" the BBPO are eligible to vote on issues that are discussed, but ALL parents are invited to attend. Have a say in what the band does! The BBPO generally meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 in the band hall.

Your time and talent is needed and appreciated by our students! Please join our BBPO (Booster Club) and get involved! Freshman parents are always needed and very welcome! For more info, see our BBPO Info on this site or Email our BBPO President at BBPO@BellaireBand.org for info on how you can help our students have a successful and productive band experience.

Attend Rehearsals and ride with us to Football Games! Even if you are not signed up to be the Volunteer or Chaperone for the day, you are invited to come and participate. Some adults just can't commit ahead of time because of other responsibilities but show up and ride with us anyway. The worst that will happen is that the buses will be full and we won't have a seat for you, but, if this happens, you're invited to follow us to the game in your own vehicle and sit with the band in the stands anyway!

Has it been a while since you were in band? Is your student speaking in jargon you don't understand? Not to worry. Check out this Band Parents' Dictionary located on the Band Parenting in the '00's Website.
