Weeks of November 16 – 20, 2009 and November Nov 23 – 24, 2009
Wed, Nov 18: pick up Butter Braids and Cookie Dough ordered as fundraisers! These items need to stay frozen and we have no place to store them, so they need to be picked up the day they are delivered to us. The time they will be ready for pick up is somewhat dependent on the UPS delivery schedule, but please plan to have them picked up in the afternoon, no later than 4pm.
Mon, Nov 23, 6:30 pm, Waltrip High School: HISD All-City Band auditions. Students who want to audition for the Honor Band (“varsity”) for Spring Semester must audition for All-City (and UIL Region band on Dec 12); those who would rather be in the Symphonic Band (“non-varsity”) do not.
Thurs, Nov 26: The band will NOT be performing in the Thanksgiving Day Parade this year. Happy Turkey Day! Safe travels to everyone out on the roads this holiday weekend.
Tickets to be sold for the Lasagna Dinner (on Dec. 4, immediately after the Holiday Concert) will be distributed before Thanksgiving. More information will be sent out as it becomes available. Tickets will be $10 each.
All-City, Region and Honors Band all use the same audition music. Links to each instrument’s audition etudes – and associated errata – can be found on the Bellaire Band Student News page (http://bellaireband.org/studentnews.html). Some of the errata have been posted recently, so even if you already have the music, check the errata again! After school and lunch help sessions are available from Ms. Meng and Mr. Montalvo.
