Ms. Meng has had a few meetings with the student staff, the board members, is getting ready for the new school year, and will be completing her move to Houston over the next few weeks.
This year’s Marching Show will be “The Game of Life”. Music should be mailed out the last week of July.
Please note the Registration Night Thurs, Aug 14. This is the opportunity for parents to meet Ms. Meng, fill out forms, join the Bellaire Band Parents Organization (BBPO), pay band fees, and get measured for uniforms. This year, students whose fees are not paid by the second football game, Sept 6 (or have other arrangements agreed to with the band director) will not perform on the field until fees are paid or arrangements made with the band director. We have NOT raised band fees from last year: $250 for band members; $350 for guard members.
BBPO meetings will be on the first Tuesday of every month (unless otherwise noted) at 6:30 in the bandhall. All BBPO members are encouraged to attend. This is the same schedule as last year.

(tentative) Sat. Aug 2, 10:00am - 12:30 pm: Band Staff Juniors and Seniors, hear Dr. Tim Lotzheimer at Memorial High School
Fri, Aug 8, 6:00 - 9:00 pm & Sat, Aug 9, 9:00 am – noon: Leadership camp/officer training. Student staff should attend. Possibly this schedule will be all day Sat. instead of Friday evening/Saturday morning.
Mon - Fri, Aug 11 - 15, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm each day: Summer Band, week 1, full band. Please bring a lunch, as there will be no students leaving campus during the 45 min. lunch break. Band, percussion and guard all start this week (no percussion camp prior to this).
Thurs, Aug 14, 6:30 pm: Registration Night -- Parents, this means you!
Mon - Fri, Aug 18 - 22, 3 pm - 9 pm: Summer Band, week 2, full band (again, no students to leave campus during the 45 min. meal break). Rehearsal on Friday, Aug. 22 will likely end early. Possible pool party afterwards, depending on facility availability.
Mon, Aug 25: First Day of School. Full Band rehearsal 3:45 - 6:15 pm
Tues, Aug 26: Full Band rehearsal 3:45 - 6:15 pm
Wed, Aug 27: Full Band rehearsal 3:45 - 6:15 pm (because of Thurs game first week of school)
Thurs, Aug 28: 1st Football Game -- Bellaire (home) vs Alief Taylor, at Butler Stadium, 7:00 pm. Call time TBD.
Tues, Sep 2: Full Band rehearsal 3:45 - 6:15 pm. BBPO meeting 6:30, Bandhall.
Wed, Sep 3: Full Band rehearsal 3:45 - 6:15 pm. (because of Labor Day holiday) -- last planned Wed. afternoon full band rehearsal.
Thurs, Sep 4: Full Band rehearsal 3:45 - 6:15 pm
Sat, Sep 6: Game -- Belliare (home) vs Washington, at Butler Stadium, 6:00 pm. Call time TBD.
For the rest of football season, after school rehearsals are as follows: M, Tu, Th, 3:45 - 6:15 pm. Wed. afternoons may be used for sectionals as called by the director.
