Upcoming events mark your Calendars!

** Saturday, October 13th:            Blinn College, Buccaneer Marching Band Contest

Saturday, October 20th :           Mighty Cardinal Marching Band "Party Practice":   9:00 AM- 12:30 PM Lunch will be provided

** Tuesday, October 23rd:             UIL Marching Band Contest

** Saturday, October 27th:            Sam Houston State University Marching Contest

A note from Mr. Sullivan

"It's almost October and we have approximately 4 weeks left in our Marching Season.   We are entering the competitive part of our year and it will end very quickly.   Routine medical or dental appointments should not take place during this time.   Any unexcused absence will result in a lower grade and negatively affect the entire band as we complete our show and as we are all interdependent.   One absence causes a disruption in our learning curve and makes it much more difficult for the absent student to catch up.  And the entire band suffers.

These events were scheduled in August and all students and parents were notified of these mandatory commitments.   Please make arrangements quickly if you have forgotten the dates or erroneously made plans that may conflict with these long-standing Bellaire Marching Band events."

LAST CALL for uniform sizing. We will be wearing out new uniforms for the first game in October and we must complete sizing this week in order to meet that deadline. The following areavailable times for sizing:

Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday of this week: The uniform managers are willing to stay after practice and sectionals for a while each day in order to get students sized

Saturday- starting at 8:00am until call time at 9:00 am and after the march at noon. Please make sure you get measured for your uniform day end of day Saturday since that is the last day.

THIS WEEK’S SCHEDULE :

Monday September 24th:             Full Band Practice 3:30 – 5:45

Tuesday September 25th:             Full Band Practice 3:30 – 5:45

Wednesday September 25th:         Sectionals 3:30 – 4:30 (everyone including Battery)

Thursday September 27th:            BHS v. Sam Houston @ Butler. Call Time 4:00 PM. WW uniform, ball cap, All music w/ flip folders and Lyres.

Chik-Fil-A from Meyerland will be donating sandwiches for the band before our game on Thursday. We will also include a bag of chips, bottled water and some fruit for each student to be served at 5:00 pm. Students are welcome to bring a sack lunch from home if this food is not sufficient.

Friday September 28th:               No Planned Activities

Saturday September 29th:            Call Time 9:00 AM. March-A-Thon   $$$$$$$$ for Our Band. WW uniform, ball cap, All music w/ flip folders and Lyres. Sell those tickets! $$ CASH $$ award to top seller and sell all tickets to be entered into $$ CASH$$ drawing.
