MCB March-A-thon 2007

Sat, Sept 29, 10:00 am - noon

What is it?

This is a fund-raiser for the Bellaire High School Band and we are asking for a donation of $10.00.  In turn, we will march with the band through the streets of Bellaire and then provide a short concert at Trolley Park which is located at Bellaire Blvd. and Rice Street.  We will then march back to the high school covering approximately 3 miles.  The funds we raise will be used to pay for new instruments, music, and other necessary items for the entire band.  We have approval from the City of Bellaire, BHS, and will have a police escort the entire time.

Where will we march?

We will begin in the teachers parking lot at the school and immediately cross Rice street (heading east) to Holly Street.  We will then wind our way around the side streets of Bellaire heading north to Bellaire Blvd.  We will cross Bellaire Blvd. and stop at the esplanade right in front of the Trolley.  We should be there between 10:45 and 11:00.  We will play a short concert and rest and then proceed back to the high school heading south.  Based on construction on the west side of Rice we will to return back the same way that we came. Invite your friends and family to meet at the trolley and enjoy the concert.  A map will be posted on the website prior to the march.

What do I need to do?

Your job as a member of the band is to obtain as many donations as possible.  The goal for each student is $100.00- which means you only have to find 10(ten) people who will donate to the band.  We want you to get more than 10 people but we are expecting at least ten.  Invite each person that contributes to come out and watch the band perform.

What do I do with the tickets?

The BBPO will issue you booklets that will have 5 tickets per book.  You are responsible for selling the donation tickets for $10.00 each or returning the ticket books.  These tickets books are just like money- you must either return the tickets (which we hope you do not do) or turn in the money you have collected.  Each person that you sell a ticket to should be given a receipt- this is very important.  You must keep the part of the ticket that has a place for your name.  At the end of the contest you must turn in money AND the ticket book or just the tickets.  If you want to turn in money at school please place the money in the envelopes that are at the cash box.  BE SURE TO PUT YOUR NAME ON THE ENVELOPE SO WE KNOW WHO SOLD THE TICKETS. ALSO- ALONG WITH THE MONEY YOU MUST TURN IN THE PART OF THE BOOKLET THAT HAS  YOUR NAME ON IT.  Money is due Friday 10/5.

Are there incentives for me to sell?

Absolutely- the student who sells the most tickets will win $150.00 in cash.  And…. Every student who sells an entire book of tickets will have their name in the drawing.  If your name is chosen you will receive $75.00 in cash. The drawing will be held Monday 10/8.

This is a great fundraiser and an easy way to earn money for the band!
