Special Meeting, July 23, 2010
BHS Band Hall

I. Call to Order – Meeting began at 7:30 and was chaired by Crystal Ramirez

Roll Call:
• Board Members Present: Crystal Ramirez, Susie Mauzy, Vicky Streeter
• Committee Chairpersons Present: Linda Pevehouse
• Band Director: Mike Hardy; Ass’t Band Director: Steven Montalvo
• General Attendance: Other than board members and committee chairpersons, there were approximately 18 attendance.

Reason for Special Meeting: The topic for the Special BBPO Meeting is to elect BBPO officers for the 2010-2011 school year. This was not done earlier as the out-going band director did not support the continued existence of the BBPO.

II. Introduction – Mr. Hardy
• Mr. Hardy has just been named the new band director for Bellaire High School. He instroduced himself and met the parents in attendance. He and Mr. Montalvo will have a schedule for August and the first part of the school year defined shortly. Expect there to be some amount of rehearsal the first week of August, though he understands that as this was not announced by the end of school that some families will be unavailable during that time.

III. BBPO Officer Elections
The Nominating Committee had prepared a slate of nominees prior to the meeting; there were no further nominations from the floor. Only the position of President had more nominees than positions (Holly Seth and Paul Shkedy); the BBPO members in attendence elected Holly Seth for President. The membership in attendance voted in the remaining slate of nominees.

The 2010-2011 BBPO Officers are:
• President: Holly Seth
• Vice-Presidents: Crystal Ramirez and Deborah Allen
• Secretary: Susie Mauzy
• Treasurer: Kathy Cane
• Uniform Chairman: Linda Pevehouse
• Color Guard Liaison: Crital Smith
• Volunteer Coordinator: Armando Espinosa

IV. Meeting Adjournment
• Next Meeting will be in August 2010.
