December 14, 2010 Meeting
BHS Band Hall
I.
Call to Order – Meeting began at 7:00 and was
chaired by Kathy Cane.
Roll Call:

Mauzy, Deborah Aaron, Crystal Ramirez
- Assistant Band Director,

Attendance: In addition to board members there were approximately five
people in attendance.

Approval of Last MeetingŐs Minutes: Approved
III. New
Business
- Fundraising:
- Food
sales Tuesdays/Thursdays at 3:15 in the courtyard. 25% of profit goes
into the studentŐs account. See Crystal Ramirez if you are interested in
helping. To date, we have earned $1031 this year, with $257.75 being
distributed to the parents who have volunteered.
- Play-a-thon:
$1000 pledged to students and $500 to general band account – good for the first yearŐs effort.
- Peanut
Sales: final order is expected Thurs or Friday; about $1000 was earned
for student accounts.
- Concessions
at All-City auditions: we grossed $510 for this activity.
- Mid-winter
Concert and Lasagna Dinner: Feb 17. Need to reserve cafeteria, too, for
the lasagna dinner. Richard Smith, Pershing band director, will be
performing with the band.
- Football
team has requested the band to pay about ¼ of the cost of re-lining
the football field.
- BBPO
requested to pay $1200 for guard instructor for fall, since the school has
not.
- Spring
semester after school rehearsals: full band will be Mondays 4:30 –
6:00; days for sectionals have not yet been
determined.

TreasurerŐs Report

Currently, about $32,000 in the bank, including about
$15,000 in deposits for the Spring trip.
