III. New Business
• Sat., Nov 14, the Jazz Band is performing for the Jazz Brunch. Students who are performing need to be at the school by 9:15 am.
• Cookie Dough and Butter Braids: over $2000 has been credited to students’ accounts from this fundraiser. Money credited to students’ accounts will first be applied to any outstanding fees/dues, then to cost of the Spring Trip. The cookie dough and butter braids will be distributed on Wed., Nov. 18 after school. They must be picked up that day – the band cannot store them overnight.
• Mon, Nov 23, Waltrip HS: All-City Band Auditions, starting at 6:30 pm. The band may get a bus to transport students. If we get a bus, the bus would leave Bellaire at 4:30. Otherwise, students will be responsible for their own transportation.
• Fri, Dec 4 is the Holiday Concert and Lasagna Dinner. Tickets for the Lasagna Dinner will be sold after Thanksgiving, and will be $10 apeice; each student is encouraged to sell 5 tickets.
• Sat, Dec 12 -- UIL Region Band Auditions
• Honor Band Auditions will be the week of Dec 14 – 17. Students auditioning for Honor Band must also audition for HISD All-City Band (Nov 23) and UIL Region Band (Dec 12).
• The band will NOT be marching in the Galveston Mardi Gras parade – the cost of renting busses and trucks to get us there and back is much less than what the band would be paid for participating.
• Spring Fundraisers: Rock Band/Guitar Hero will be Feb 5.
• Two events on Fri, April 9: the Band hosts Teacher Appreciation Breakfast (more information on this later), and in the evening will have the Spring Concert.
• Concert Uniforms: need to be cleaned before the All-City and Region Band performances. Plan is to have everyone fitted for concert uniforms before Christmas Break.
IV. Treasurer’s Report
• Approximately $6,000 in band fees/dues are outstanding
• Food Fundraiser: we make about ~$100 each day we sell, but we need more parent volunteers to help sell after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
V. Old Business
VI. Meeting Adjournment
