Mighty Cardinal Band Guard Corner

The Bellaire Color Guard competed in the Marching Auxiliaries Regional Contest at Klein Oak High School in March.

Aishah Williams won 2nd place in the 9th grade solo category-

Corey Wesley won 1st place 9th grade solo category-

Joanna Carranza won 4th place 10th thru 12th grade solo category-

Bradman Moore won 3rd place 10th thru 12th grade solo category-

Edwin Cole won 2nd place 10th thru 12th grade solo category-

We had a 1st place win in the small Ensemble category: Joanna Carranza, Edwin Cole, Kayla Topps, and Gabrielle Macon won 1st place.

The Color Guard overall received a 1st Place Superior Rating and this win qualifies our Bellaire Color Guard to participate in the Marching Auxiliaries National Competition to be held in Dallas later this spring.

All Contests are sanctioned by the Texas Color Guard Circuit and Marching Auxiliaries.  As soon as any information is available on times for contests, it will be posted and/or handed to the students.  The website for these two organizations are:  www.texascolorguardcircuit.org  and www.maux.com.  Please feel free to browse any of these websites as they will be helpful in answering some of your questions-especially directions to the contest sites.  All parents planning to go to any of our events as  official chaperones must have already registered under the VIPs program for HISD.  Please visit www.houstonisd.org for more information. The students of the Bellaire High School Color Guard have an opportunity to compete in the solo category at the Regional and National levels.  They will have to pay an entry fee and they are responsible for buying and/or borrowing their own costume and equipment.  Once they are entered the money is non-refundable-even if they become ineligible because of grades or behavior or they do not have their solo complete by the contest date. The student is also responsible for being at their scheduled practice time.
